japanese summer begins

these are japanese pickled plums, also called umeboshi in japanese.

my mom pickled them (apparently the best umeboshi ever according to a huge canadian guy living in nagoya, japan!) and also i was forced to help her sun-dry them.

ahhh the japanese dangerously hot summer is coming soon...........................
